"It's Masasa (flat-tone), not Maa~sasa"

EXPECTATION (Staying in Masasa Beach Daytour)

1. The beach water itself is clean but I advise you to wear slippers or aqua shoes. There are a lot of rocks and grass.

2. Pitching up a tent is free until 7PM. This is a new policy that was stated 3/6/2017.

3. It is best to stay here if you are on a day tour, but if it's overnight, I recommend staying in "Nanay Myrna", it's only P200 per night.

4. The beach surroundings is not very clean. Please expect the beach to have lot of trash. Plastic bottles, spoiled food, beer bottles, etc.

5. CR / Comfort room is from 7AM - 7PM only.

Peeing - 5PHP

Pooping - 10PHP

Bucket of water for taking a bath - 20PHP

6. Expect that you will have no privacy when taking a bath.

7. If you want to cook your food its for P150. Use of gas, cooking utensils, etc.

8. Sand is soft but I don't advise you to go barefoot, you might hurt yourself. Broken glass, fish bones, bottle caps, etc.

9. There is a small store, if you come early make sure to pitch your tent there. Easy access to buy things and CR.

10. If you want to stay in Masasa Beach only. I can assure you, you will only spend around 800 - 900PHP. I will also give you the break down.

EXPECTATION (Staying in Accommodation)

1. Contact "Nanay Myrna Ferrancullo" (0947 - 579 - 0167) and reserve the accommodation. PHP200/night

Privacy Taking a bath and doing business.

They will cook your food. Tell them how to and they will do it.

P.S - Others offer it at P300/night and you cook your own food.

2. They offer island hopping and trekking. Your guides will be one of her children or their husbands.

3. Electricity is from 12PM - 12AM only. Bring Power Bank.

4. There is no SIGNAL in the area. If you are lucky you can get 1 bar.

5. Accommodation to Masasa Beach is near. It is a 10-minute walk.

6. They offer hangers to dry your clothes.

7. You can buy Ice for PHP5. One of children sells it.

8. At weekdays it will be slightly noisy as the kids of the house are getting ready to go to school.

9. No need to stress out to buy souvenirs. Ate Girlie (one of Nanay's Myrna's children) are selling them. She will give them at a good deal, if you know how to haggle.

HELPFUL TIPS:

1. Going to Batangas Grand Terminal, leave before 11AM. Ride is 2hrs - 2.5hrs long. Then ride a jeepney going to Anilao Port. Ride takes 40mins - 50mins. Depending on traffic.

2. Anilao Port - Tingloy Port please come before 3PM. Fare is only P80. If you come at a later time, "SPECIAL BANGKA" ranges from P3500 - P4500. P3500 is good for 10PAX while P4500 is 15PAX.

3. There is no time frame nor schedule for the Boats from Tingloy - Anilao Port. They will wait for 80 passengers.

First Trip - 8AM

Last Trip - 3PM

4. You can buy 5 Gallons Mineral Water w/ Faucet at a water station in Anilao Port. Please don't buy in any grocery store as they will require you to pay rent for PHP50 and a deposit of PHP200.

5. Don't forget to bring your Power banks - THIS IS A MUST! Whether you are in a tent or accommodation.

6. Don't forget to bring your own snorkeling gear, goggles, etc. Otherwise, you need to rent them for PHP100 - PHP200.

7. Island Hopping is usually done in the morning as early as 7AM, because of the waves. It's PHP1500 good for 4PAX. PHP375 each. "Bangka" is only good for 3pax", you will have to go there separately. I will add other "Bangkeros'" phone numbers as well" See living corals and caves. Please wear slippers or aqua shoes.

8. Before going back to Masasa from Island Hopping, request from the "Bangkero" if you can do snorkeling. They will let you hold on to a rope while they start the boat at a slow pace. You are able to see corals, fishes, starfish (blue), etc. The hardest part is climbing back to the boat.

9. If you are inexperienced in trekking, it is fine. This is the easiest Mt. to trek - Mt Mag-Bato. There is a rock at a top of the mountain. You will climb the rock, be extra careful, there are no ropes or something to hold you if you slip.

10. Please bring shoes for trekking, the trail is kind of slippery due to small stones. Don't forget to bring water. Go before sunrise!
